This is a consultancy agency in Geomatics Engineering and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) it offers (among other services) the following:

Geographic Information System (GIS)
A geographic information system (GIS) is an organized collection of computer hardware, software, spatial and non spatial data and users, designed to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze and display all forms of geographically referenced information.
GIS being a tool for mapping and analyzing things that exist, and events that happen on earth, GeoData Consultants major area of expatriates cover GIS project planning, designing GIS and Land Information Systems, GIS database design and development, GIS data acquisition by digitizing, scanning, GPS Survey and Total station surveys; Collecting and creating geo-referenced digital databases at national, district and township level. We are also providing customized GIS solutions to particular organizations based on their specific needs.

Digital Mapping
Digital mapping refers to a process of storing and displaying data in digital form based on computer application software.
GeoData Consultants main area of operation includes preparation of digital cartographic databases and digital maps that give us a power to trade on map data. We have a range of maps in our digital databases covering almost the whole country at different scales.
Based on the digital mapping phenomenon, we also produce hard copy maps at different sizes and for specific tasks like researches, tour guides and other thematic maps. Our data are stored in different GIS formats, basically in ESRI ArcView shape files and MapInfo Professional tab files.

Geospatial Training.
Geospatial data or geographic information it is the data or information that identifies the geographic location of features and boundaries on Earth, such as natural or constructed features, oceans, and more. Spatial data is usually stored as coordinates and topology, and is data that can be mapped. Spatial data is often accessed, manipulated or analyzed through Geographic Information Systems. It is this characteristics of combining GIS with computer science discipline change the terminology from GIS to Geospatial training.
GeoData Consultants Limited has qualified and approved staff trained to cover the wide range of GIS training. This includes Conducting GIS courses with professional GIS softwares like ArcGIS, ArcView, MapInfo, Eldas, etc. We also conducts tailor made course specific to particular organizations.

Database Design, System Development and GIS Implementation.
A database is a collection of information that is organized so that it can easily be accessed, managed, and updated. In one view, databases can be classified according to types of content: bibliographic, full-text, numeric, and images.
GeoData Consultants approach bases on linking GIS technology to normal and widely used ICT (information and Communication Technology). This means that, whatever database or software application we are developing should show exactly the relationship to land component.

Environmental Management.
Tasks include: Conducting rapid assessment of wetlands, Categorizing individual wetlands according to their provision of buffering services. Assess the economic potential of wetlands and evaluate their contribution to the local communities and environment. Analyzing remotely sensed data and create land use and cover change maps. Creation of digital base maps; Identification of Environmental Information needs; change and development assessment, development of Environmental Information and Monitoring System

Hardware equipment and Software.
As Trimble mapping equipment reseller, GeoData Consultants Limited owns a number of mapping equipment including latest series of JUNO SB hand held GPS and field pocket computer as well as Trimble Geo-Explorer 2005 Series GPS (a sub-meter accuracy GPS) that powers GeoData to stand on number one for mobile GIS application.
We own large format digitizer, Large format printer (DesignJet) that can print up to A0 paper size. GeoData also owns a special camera for reconnaissance, that is the Ricoh Pro digital camera mounted with GPS device card.

The company owns most popular GIS platforms including ArcGIS 9.x, ArcView GIS 3.2 and MapInfo Professional version 9.x for day to day GIS activities.
MySQL, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access are default database application software for the database design and development in our organization. This gives our client a power to choose which database application software would like to use in his/her project circle.
JAVA and Visual Basic enterprise edition are our default development environment in software development.

GPS data collection based on Mobile GIS Technology.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based navigational and positioning system. The space segment of the system is a network of up to 24 orbiting satellites that continuously transmit radio signals that allow the user segment – a GPS receiver anywhere on earth – to calculate its own three-dimensional position (X, Y, Z), velocity, and time. A GPS satellite is also known as a space vehicle (SV). The control segment of the system involves a Master Control facility in Colorado that measures signals from the SVs which are then incorporated into orbital models that compute precise orbital data clock corrections for each satellite.
At GeoData, there are different ranges of GPS equipment with varying accuracy. Which equipment to use depends on the nature of a job and accuracy required by our client. With latest technology on GIS data collection, GeoData uses Trimble Juno SB with inbuilt digital camera specifically for reconnaissance during mapping and collection of information of various land-based objects as required by clients. The digital photographs which are collected on site basis are automatically geo-referenced with location point x,y coordinates which helps to justify the real condition of the object during the time of photographing.
